For our 50th anniversary gala concert we are commissioning a new work for choir and orchestra and need to raise £10000 to pay for it
The Waynflete Singers is one of the premier choirs in the South of England. Based in Winchester, we are conducted by Andrew Lumsden, Director of Music at Winchester Cathedral, and perform regularly in the Cathedral, as well as further afield and in London.
We are celebrating our 50th anniversary in 2020 and will be holding a gala concert in Winchester Cathedral on March 28th. This concert will contain works selected from those we have performed over those 50 years and will be conducted by our three most recent music directors, Andrew Lumsden, David Hill and Martin Neary.
As part of the concert we are commissioning a new work from the composer and singer Roderick Williams.

We are delighted to be working with Roddy, who will also be singing Vaughan Williams's Five Mystical Songs in the concert. Roddy has composed before for Winchester Cathedral - his Queen Elizabeth's Carol being composed in honour of the Queen's 90th birthday for the Winchester Cathedral Choir.
