Aim

Replace our failing 25‑year old boilers, to prevent winter cancellations, cut energy use and repair bills, and keep the club reliably warm

Wasps FC was founded in 1867, and for 160 years we have welcomed generations of amateur rugby players who found confidence, belonging, and lifelong friendships on our pitches. Our history is rich, but our purpose has always been simple: to create a place where people of all backgrounds can grow through sport.

Today, we run thriving boys’ and girls’ sections, senior men’s and women’s teams, and offer touch and tag rugby for all ages. Our grounds also host a wide range of other sports, cultural activities, and social groups, making the club a local community hub

Why are we crowdfunding?

Only one of our two boilers is just about functioning, the other has been stripped for parts because replacements are no longer available. When the remaining boiler fails, matches, training and community sessions are cancelled, especially in winter. Installing two new systems will keep the club warm, stop disruptions, cut costs and secure our long‑term future

How we’ll spend the money raised

We’re grateful to Sport England for a £15K grant. Wasps FC are now aiming to raise a further £15K through crowdfunding, helping reduce the club’s share of the £50K cost to install two new efficient boilers before winter.

Community impact

Wasps FC is a volunteer‑run community club providing safe, affordable and inclusive space for thousands of people across West London each year. Rising energy costs and unreliable boilers threaten our ability to keep the clubhouse warm, open and accessible, not just for sport, but for the many community groups who rely on us year‑round.

Our facilities support far more than rugby. Local schools use our pitches for PE and fixtures; community organisations host cultural events, wellbeing activities and social gatherings; and our SClub70 Coffee Club offers routine, connection and support for older residents within a warm, stable environment.

Our ageing boilers remain the biggest barrier to reliability, comfort and continuity for everyone who uses our space. Replacing them protects participation, reduces costs and strengthens the long‑term future of a vital community hub.
