To lift people out of 'fuel poverty' on the Isle of Wight, one of poorest areas in England.
To lift people out of 'fuel poverty' on the Isle of Wight, one of poorest areas in England.
18% of Island homes are in fuel poverty. This means that people are making choices between heating and eating. This also means that energy is being wasted, adding to CO2 pollution. Those living in fuel poverty spend at least 10% of their income on energy for their homes.
Most households we assist reduce their energy bills by around £200 per year, meaning they can afford to heat and eat. We can provide grant-funded insulation, guidance on switching supplier and details of other help available.
The Footprint Trust has many years of experience in helping local people out of fuel poverty. We are recognised both locally and nationally for our positive work.
But we need funding to continue our home visits, phone help-line and Monergy workshops.
The Trust is a registered charity, which helps people and the planet.
