Supporting families and individuals struggling to make ends meet, through provision of a free warm space, food and welfare support.
Edge Ministries is a registered Christian charity that reaches forgotten people in forgotten places, hitting poverty head-on through social action.
Our Tupton Edge Centre is open to everyone and is based near Chesterfield in North East Derbyshire. Our friendly staff and volunteers provide a warm welcome, plus access to free food and an ‘Open Living Room’ for warmth and friendship.
We also provide access to support with complex social issues including food and fuel poverty, gaps in essential life skills, debt and financial crisis, benefits claims, poor mental health, abuse and domestic violence, underemployment and unemployment, insecure housing and dependencies.
In addition to providing free access to welfare support, food and warmth, we also help people with home energy efficiency advice, provision of 'warm packs' (hats, gloves, radiator foil, blankets), pre-loved school uniform project and a baby & toddler group.

Tupton Village is rural and getting to nearby larger towns can be tricky as public transport is often indirect and can be unaffordable for some. Tupton is also an area of deprivation ranking in the top 20% most deprived nationally. Local people are struggling to make ends meet following the pandemic and now due to the cost of living crisis and people are telling us that they can't afford to heat their home nor feed their families.
Why are we crowdfunding?
Demand for support with housing and debt has risen by over 30% each in the last 3 months alone and people coming to us who are hungry is rapidly increasing. As an organisation we rely on grants from Trusts and Foundations as well as public donations. We don't receive any funding from government to help keep the lights on and the premises heated. With your help we can continue to offer our building as a warm space.

Funding raised will be spent on project running costs such as rent, utilities, food and centre staff salaries.
