Aim
We aim to provide a weekly warm welcome local people, where they can come together, socialise, stay warm and be community.
Who are we?
Oasis Hub Blakenhale is a community hub in Garretts Green East Birmingham. We support the local community to create a range of community activities at the hub to support each other. One of the developing activities is out warm welcome. This is a space where people can come to be warm, socialise, access a food club, get free wifi, have some tea and toast. The warm welcome is free and we are trying really hard to keep it that way.
Community impact
This is having a real impact on those who attend and the number attending each week is growing. They feel welcomed and valued and are also in a place where they can get directed to others services should they need to, for example benefits advice>
Why are we crowdfunding?
There is very minimal cost to operating this group however there are costs and to keep it free for people to access we would like to attract ongoing small or large amounts of crowd funding.
How we’ll spend the money raised
All the money raised will go towards this specific group running. Buying snacks and refreshments, providing enrichment activities, heating costs etc.
