Who are we?
For five years Earlsdon Carnegie Community Library (ECCL) has been run by volunteers. In addition to all the usual library services we have made significant progress in developing the library as a real cultural hub and our activities include Rhymetime, Storytime, Stay and Play, Chess Club, Creative Kindness, French Group, Spanish Group, Lego Club, Craft Club, Book Clubs, film nights, art exhibitions, author talks, gigs... and a whole lot more!
Community impact
We're a safe space for anyone in the community who is lonely, vulnerable or isolated and we host many groups and events which help those who are most in need. Anyone can use our beautiful space to read, use our computers, access our wifi, browse a newspaper, have a hot drink or snack - all for free. We also welcome families to our wonderful Children's Library, with many free and low cost events.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We have registered as a Warm Welcome space for anyone who is struggling this winter with the cost of living crisis. We're making our space more inviting by providing free hot drinks, snacks, additional seating and warm clothing (in conjunction with Clothing Coventry). We are crowdfunding to cover the additional costs associated with the project.
