Helping Bardney folk stay warm this winter. A relaxed, welcoming space with refreshments, free to all. Activities help to relieve loneliness
Bardney Christian Community Trust works with people of all faiths, and none. Our aim is to create an inclusive society where people treat each other with kindness and respect, whether they are Christian or not. By demonstrating Christian values in the way we treat other people we hope that people will feel part of our community and empowered to ask questions about faith.
We hold regular events, free to all members of the local community to attend to socialise with other attendees and build friendships. Through our coffee shop The Open Door, and links with other local community groups and churches we help people build support networks by providing links to other groups and services in the area.
In 2016 we opened The Open Door Coffee Shop as a shared space to relax and enjoy quality refreshments in a friendly safe environment. We keep prices low so income is not a barrier to people enjoying what we offer.
From the start, it provided an environment where our staff and volunteers can build relationships with customers, making them feel valued, which increases our customers' sense of community and feeling of wellbeing.

We are a registered charity and run our coffee shop on a not-for-profit basis.
The Warm Welcome project is a new project in response to the national cost of living crisis. Our research shows that there is a need for these sessions in Bardney. The sessions will run every Wednesday between 3 pm and 5 pm. We are asking for crowdfunding to help cover the costs of this new project.
The sessions will be relaxed and welcoming, with refreshments free of charge and activities e.g. board games to encourage socialization and relieve loneliness. The sessions will be open to everyone in our local community and are aimed at those who are particularly struggling to heat their homes during the coldest months due to fuel poverty. People visiting the sessions will benefit from relief of hardship as they will be able to spend time in a warm environment without having spend money on heating.

All funding raised will be used to cover fuel costs to heat the coffee shop during the warm room sessions and to buy refreshments for people to enjoy at the session.
