 New stretch target

We could open Warm Spaces/Welcome longer on Thursday or on additional days. Our current restrictions is due to overhead costs.

Who are we?

We are a group of people who have a passion to support the wider community of Banbury. Whilst we are a faith based community we welcome people of all faiths and none. We support a number of community activities including Banbury Foodbank, Town Centre Chaplaincy and Street Pastors. Our building is also used by a variety of community groups and currently we are working with the Town Council and Age Concern to offer a warm space to anyone who needs it during these challenging times. We are open every Thursday morning from 9.30am. You will receive a warm welcome from our team of volunteers, we provide hot drinks, IT support,  including opportunities to charge phones/tablets etc and a friendly ear.

Community impact

We recognise that the current economic crisis that people are facing can have a detrimential impact of people mental health and well being. We are well placed within the town to support people of all ages, with ample space and a strong team of volunteers to offer a listen ear and practical support.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Whilst we are keen to offer our building to the community as a warm space - we recognise that this will cost money. Our heating bills have rocketed (Charities pay business rates in respect of utility bills) inorder to continue to open and ensure that our Warm Space is sustainable we need to increase our income, from just donations for drinks.

How we’ll spend the money raised

We do not make any "profit" from offering to be a "Warm Space" and the church subsides much of our running costs and provides the equipment, they have just upgraded the cooker so as we move forward we can offer more than simple refreshments. We plan to use the funds raised to ensure we can continue opperating on a donation (or free to user) basis. This includes making a contribution towards heat and electric, offering drinks and providing extra support such as free WiiFi and charging points.
