We have no heating in our premises. We would like to warm up the place and get some help in paying the bills.

Who are we?

Use this space to give your audience a friendly introduction to your organisation.

We are a religious organisation based in Camberwell. We started our community in 2005 and then, in 2012 we decided to rent our premises in Camberwell in order to offer a more continous support to those in need. The community has 2 directors, a secretary and a group of close collaborators. All volunteers.  Everyone is welcome to join.

Community impact

It’s important to explain the wider impact of your organisation for the whole community, who does it benefit and why?

We offer spiritual and material support to those in need. We are open to everybody but we are especially connected to South American people due to the common language. We offer spiritual support by teaching how to win fears, drug or alcohol addiction and how be resilient and overcome bad times by believing in God's love. Many found a family in our community and a reference point.   We also offer advice and support with applications for visa permits, finding a job, finding accommodation... and in every other possible way when we have the opportunity to help.  For example, often we help with weekly shopping or by paying for travel cards.  We are open every single day of the year and we aim to extend our services. Recently we have open a coffee shop in the hope that this will help us to pay for our rent and bills. However, in future, we hope to use it to employ people from difficult backgrounds and who struggle to find a job.  We hope to be able to offer an opportunity to those with no experience or skills so to help them to step into the job market.

We also organise overseas missions to preach in other countries. All self funded.

Why are we crowdfunding?

This is where you should explain the reason you need to raise money. How is your organisation or community impacted by the cost of living crisis?

Our organistion has been badly affected by covid and by the raising costs of living. Despite opening a coffee shop in order to pay for the accumulated rent debt,  we are still struggling. We are sure that we will regain strengths but we need a little help.  We feel that we are offering a valuable support to the community and many families have experienced the benefits of our work. We do not want to give up.  We hope to gather some funds to pay for our bills while we gain new strengths.

How we’ll spend the money raised

It’s important to be transparent about how you plan to spend the money you raise. Your audience will be more likely to make a pledge if they can see how their donation will help.

We intend to spend the money to pay for our bills and for the rent. This is to keep the place going since many people have found support and help there. We do not want to close it down.

We have no heating in our premises and this winter it will be particularly difficult to warm it up due to the raising electricity costs.  It would be nice if, at the weekend as well as on Christmas day or New Eve day, those who come for a hot meal can find a warm and comfortable place to seat.
