Co-op Warm Spaces Funding Boost has provided £595 of match funding
We want to continue to provide our free Warm Spaces activities for our local community for the rest of 2023.
Harborne Baptist Church is a Christian place of worship and we also provide a venue for a number of groups that meet throughout the week. Some groups are run by the church while others are run by outside organisations. Some of these are Alcoholics Anonymous, Ukrainian Guests & Hosts Coffee Morning, Harborne Dance School, Southlink Charter Centre (a user-led mental health drop in centre), Birmingham Fibromyalgia UK Support Group, The Digital Literacy Project Drop In (alongside our Place of Welcome), University of the 3rd Age (U3A) and various courses jointly organised by Lordswood and Ridgeacre Road Surgeries and Birmingham Adult Education.
We currently offer five Warm Spaces which are free to anyone who would like to attend:

Harborne Baptist Church is located in the heart of Edgbaston Constituency which includes the Wards of Harborne, Quinton, Edgbaston and Bartley Green. We work with two of our local GP Surgeries' social prescribing unit and Health and Wellbeing Coach. We also have connections with other churches in the area and try to support and work together whenever possible. Numbers of those attending our Warm Spaces have consistently increased since November 2022. Through the Warm Spaces, we provide opportunities for people to connect with others in the community, combatting loneliness and isolation and promoting community involvement.
We want to continue to offer all our Warm Spaces (and potentially add more!) for free to everyone. However, there are costs for us - staffing, utilities, cleaning, art & craft materials, Move It or Lose It class instructor, etc. Any funds raised will help enable us to provide Warm Spaces @ HBC for free.
It’s important to be transparent about how you plan to spend the money you raise. Your audience will be more likely to make a pledge if they can see how their donation will help.
