Who are we?
The Creature Feature Show is a Community Interest Company that provides essential support to everyone in the community. We provide Animal Assisted interventions to hundreds of people a month, having a community hub we will be able to reach many more people that need our support.
We have been running a Preventing Pet Poverty Campaign to ensure all pets have access to food, essential items such as toys, coats for warmth, collars, leads, harnesses and enrichment items. These have been a vital service for us recently to those that are struggling with the living crisis and not being able to provide these for their beloved pets.
Community impact
By providing a safe warm space to members of the community within one of the most deprived areas in Falmouth, Cornwall, this will enable people to meet each other, help with supporting vulnerable and lonely people that can be involved in the activities or enjoy a warm drink. With the cost of living going up and more people struggling pets also feel the cold and therefore having a pet friendly space will help with their wellbeing too.
Running of workshops and projects will help break down barriers and provide support to those that are struggling with their mental health, thus having a positive impact to their wellbeing and physical health.
We will welcome those that are working or passing to pop in and have a drink or use the facilities especially the unpaid or paid carers and emergency services, outside agencies and anyone who is in the area.
The warm space is open to everyone and is completely disabled friendly with ramps outside and wider doors for wheelchair users.
Why are we crowdfunding?
The number of people needing our animal intervention support has significantly increased and people have shown how much they are struggling to provide for themselves. This warm space will be vital for everyone in the community as no person or pet should go hungry or cold. There is an immediate need within the area and the continuation of this to provide these essential spaces during one of the hardest times with those experiencing difficulties during the cost-of-living crisis.
How we’ll spend the money raised
The money raised will be used towards paying for core costs and energy bills to ensure the Warm Space is open for increased hours during the week. Ensuring the space is comfortable for everyone. Catering for all allergies and offering warm drinks and snacks to those that are struggling to afford essential items themselves. Running of groups and the purchase of items that are needed to facilitate these activities for all ages.
Ensuring there is pet food available to the community so that owners do not have to choose to feed themselves or their beloved pets.
No person or pet should go hungry or be cold in the UK during these challenging times.
