Fundraising so that we are able to keep our Community Centre as a warm and welcoming...
Creating a warm and welcoming space for our community to access during the cost of living crisis, making new friends and reduce loneliness.
We are an independent charity comprising of three paid staff and 10 volunteers. We started working with our community in Parson Cross in 1999. Our aim is to respond to the changing and growing needs of our community, in particular those who are older, vulnerable, isolated or living with dementia. Over the last 23yrs the number of people accessing our activities and support has grown from 100-1000+ every week.

We have implemented many new ideas to help older people and others in our community live a fuller life, predominantly to reduce loneliness and overcome mental health issues, learn new skills, exercise, socialise and feel connected. We are known citywide as a leading provider of dementia support services with our flagship projects and activities that engage over 110 people living with dementia and carers every week. Other events we run include Bingo, Lunch Clubs, Tea-dances, Art therapy, Tai Chi, Singing for the Soul, Indoor Carpet Bowls and trips out/mini breaks.

Our organisation has been impacted immensely by the cost of living crisis, with both our energy cost and increase in food prices.
All our groups offer a warm and welcoming space for people to meet, socialise, reduce social isolation and make new friends and Parson Cross Forum would like to keep the impact of the cost of living crisis to minimum for the people who access our services.

Any money raised through this project will be used towards covering our increasing utility bills to keep our centre warm over the winter. Allowing us to continue to deliver the services that we do for our community.
