Warm Space at Lil's Parlour CIC

Aim

We provide a warm, safe and none judgemental space for all of our community. Help us provide this an extra day a week.

Lil's Parlour is the first "Pay as you can" Bakery in the United Kingdom. We provide local people with a warm, safe space on a Saturday where they can come to access amazing artisan baked goods at a price they can afford. We offer an anonymous, none judgemental payment system and never turn anyone away. We can also help with benefits, hardship, foodbank referrals, and we are a positive mental health space for everybody in our community.   People can come to us as a safe, warm space, just for a rest and a chat, or for assistance. People often comment coming to see us is the highlight of their week and some visit just to sit on our cosy sofa for a chat and a hot drink. 

Our customers (we call everybody a customer to give them financial confidence and autonomy) , who we consider our friends come from all parts of our community and we are proud to be an inclusive, positive, space. 

We need your support to help us fund Lil's Parlour's rising running costs, so we can be there for our community through the challenging times ahead. We have seen an exponential increase in those accessing our services who cannot afford to pay our recommended price with our "average" per item transaction price dropping from £3 to £1.27 across the board since November 2022 and we are struggling to meet the gap with rising ingredients costs, rent increases and our own utility costs to keep the space warm for our customers. It is also very important that our high standards do not drop due to our own financial difficulties. Even when the weather gets warmer there will be still be people struggling to meet their minimum bill payments and we want to be there into the future to continue our work.
