Who are we?
We are a charity based Westhoughton, providing a wide range of services that meet the needs of a growing community. This includes, childrens/toddler groups, health and well being, social isolation, dance, fitness, exercise, arts, sewing, meditation and a range of charity events.
Community impact
We have a massively growing population in Westhoughton. The age range we provide services and activities for are from 0 to 99. This is the first of its kind in this area and brings a range of people together, creating a lively and friendly atmosphere, we began in September 2017 with a small team of volunteers, we now welcome over 700 a week to the centre and provide much needed services that cover all aspects of peoples lives. The impact on community is massive, we provide many services that are difficult to obtain all on one site.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We would like to continue the work that we have set up and this will enable us to reach even further for longer and connect with those people who find it most difficult during this time. Just having somewhere people can feel safe and warm, knowing they can come along, meet new people, take part in activities, keep warm and have a hot drink and food. Teaching residents how to cook on a budget, using slow cookers and air fryers.
How we’ll spend the money raised
The money will be spent on food, drinks, events and activities. We would also like to teach people to cook on a budget and use slow cookers and air fryers as a more economical way to make batches of food that they can then use throughout the week. This has already been achieved within the centre with much success, and this funding will allow this activity to come under The Hub umbrella and enhance the offer to all.
