Warm and friendly spaces

Aim: We wish to open up our community space for longer, giving extended access to our community fridge and our lovely warm and refurbished rooms.

Who are we?

We are a non-for-profit community interest company based in Shirebrook that cares about the place and the people that live here.  We run activities and events that people help co-design and join with, creating the conditions that allow people to have fun, connect, build relationships and develop ideas together.

We have a "being kind" pledge that holds us all to account and ensures whatever we do, we do it with kindness.

Community impact

We help and support lots of people through the sessions we run and the way in which we conduct ourselves - promoting the need to be kind to ourselves and each other.

We run a community fridge and share out food too, using our space to socialise, access hyper-local support and create the opportunity to connect, build friendships and meet others from the local community.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We have a wonderfully refurbished space that is designed for people to socialise, join in with activities, read a book, have a brew and a chat, whatever people want to do.  We need additional funds to help run the space and extend our opening times, creating more opportunities for local people to come in out of the cold and receive some much needed companionship and a smile.

How we’ll spend the money raised?

Funds will pay for "our ambassadors" to host the space, keep it clean and tidy, make drinks, undertake some training and offer light snacks to all that enter.
