Aim

A sensory garden enriched with cherry trees would create a vibrant, inclusive space that strengthens wellbeing

We are a town council that is looking to help mental well being in the community

A sensory garden enriched with cherry trees would create a vibrant, inclusive space that strengthens wellbeing, connection, and local identity. The sensory garden would offer calming natural experiences through colour, scent, texture, and sound, supporting mental health and providing an accessible environment for people of all ages and abilities, including those with additional sensory needs. It would also encourage community interaction, outdoor learning, and engagement with nature, helping residents feel more connected to one another and to their environment.

The addition of cherry trees would bring seasonal beauty and a sense of celebration each spring, creating a focal point that draws people together and boosts pride in the local area. Their blossoms would enhance the character of the space, while the trees themselves contribute to shade, biodiversity, and climate resilience. Together, the sensory garden and cherry trees would transform the site into a welcoming, uplifting destination that supports wellbeing, strengthens community identity, and enriches daily life for residents and visitors alike.
