Aim: Young people from south London seeking support to go on a life changing pilgrimage to the sacred island of Iona.
We’re a spirited group of teens (14–18 years) raised in inner-city London, and this summer we’re answering a calling: a week-long youth pilgrimage to the sacred island of Iona. It’s not just a trip, it’s a chance to step out of our everyday lives, immerse ourselves in centuries of Celtic spirituality and come home transformed.
Iona’s wild beauty, from its windswept shores to its hushed ancient abbey, will be our classroom. We’ll dive into the poetry and symbols of Celtic Christianity, learn how faith fuels peaceful protest, and unite our voices against injustice and environmental destruction. These lessons won’t stay on Iona; we’ll carry them back into our schools, churches, and communities, inspiring new conversations and real action.
But we can’t do it alone. The costs of the long journey on coaches, trains busses and ferries, and the youth week itself, all add up and every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to setting foot on those ancient stones. When you give, you’re investing in a generation of young leaders ready to fight for a more just, compassionate world.
