Aim
To continue to provide a warm, welcoming environment for our 2 community projects - Walshaw Baby & Toddler Group & Walshaw Community Choir.
Who are we?
We are the local church, and our Grade 2* listed 130 year old building is expensive to heat. We have recently invested in a new heating system, and are managing this as carefully as possible. Our desire is for the building to be used for community activities, and Wednesday is currently our focus day for this.
On Wednesdays, we aim to provide a warm, comfortable space for babies and toddlers (and their families and carers) to play, and a space for our Community Choir to rehearse and sing their hearts out!
Community impact
The Baby and Toddler Group operates at full capacity, providing well-equipped and staffed play sessions for 40 children accompanied by parents and carers.
The Walshaw Community Choir is open to adults with all musical abilities, and has a membership of over 40.
Why are we crowdfunding?
Gas costs have risen by a factor of 3x and the church is generously subsidising these community activities. Additional funding will help to make the activities sustainable, for the remainder of 2022/23 winter, and beyond.
How we’ll spend the money raised
All funds raised will be designated to the costs of heating the church to facilitate the community activities on Wednesdays and on other occasions.
