Aim

Please support me as I attempt to walk the Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail of 63km from start to finish in 2 days.

I am an Irish woman, living in Amsterdam and am currently in Ireland supporting my Mum. The Covid vaccine allowed me to safely travel to be with her. As I once again explore the beauty and heritage all around me, while watching the Covid vaccination program unfold around the world, I see that the time to act is now, and the Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail is the perfect combination of opportunity and challenge.

The trail starts at my hometown of Balla, and continues through many heritage sites in Mayo, until it reaches the most famous heritage site of all, the mountain where St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland is believed to have fasted for 40 days.

On August 2 and 3, I will walk the typically 3-day trail of fields, bogs, woodland and minor roads over the 2 days. I will be joined by very good friends along the way. On day 1 we will walk to Aughagower (about 41km and home to one of our walkers) and on day 2, we will walk the last more elevated and boggy 20km to Croagh Patrick.

Your support will mean the world to us and to all the people who are still waiting for the safety a vaccine brings to them, their families and to all of us. Every donation makes a difference, especially now as your donation will be matched by Pears Foundation.
