Aim

Help me to raise money to support the families of two visually impaired people who have lost complete sight during the war in Sri Lanka.

Ram (100km), Kanjhana (25km), Karuna Mukunthan (25km) and Sujee (25km) are doing the Lake District Ultra Challenge on Saturday, 10th June 2023 to raise money for a charitable cause that is very dear to us. Please donate and help us reach our target in aid of Child First (UK) a registered charity in UK.

The funds raised in this project by Child First (UK) will be used to deposit SLR1,000,000 (~£2500) in the savings accounts of two visually impaired people to generate enough interest as their monthly income. This income is used to support their children and family members to live an independent life with dignity.

Initially 33 families were identified in 2021/22 by the Vanni Association For Visually Handicapped (Registered in Sri Lanka) and SLR1,000,000 have been deposited for 13 families so far through various donors. The rest have SLR500,000 in their savings and our challenge walk will top this amount to SLR1,000,000 for two families.

Any surplus will be used to top up the savings accounts of the remaining families.

Anything you can contribute towards helping us achieve our target will be received with gratitude.

Thank you

Ram, Mugu, Kanjhana & Sujee
