We work with people new to this country to reduce social isolation, introducing people to services as well as places to go for fun.
So far, we've had 7 wonderful tours so far and 3 smaller trips dinner and cinema trips! We'd like you to help fund our next tour on Saturday March 9, which will be partly run by tour alumni, as well as the next 5 tours over the summer.
We've got to know a massive range of people from Iran, Syria, Eritrea, Congo, Pakistan, Iraq and other countries. We've introduced people to projects like the London Welcome Project and Migrateful, places they can enjoy for free like the British Museum, YMCA, British Library and Foundling Museum, and had lunch at the wonderful environmental project Skip Garden.
Most importantly, we've built relationships with those on our tour, like the Pakistani artist who designed our new logo or the Iranian man we supported when his asylum support card didn't dispense any money. This is crucial to resisting the hostile environment many people face when they come to this country.
We've kept to our planned budget with cost per person almost exactly £15 per person as we estimated. Overall, our tours had over 70 attendees, with some liking it so much they even came twice!
We are asking for money for 6 tours. The costings are below.
Travel expenses for migrants and refugees for 6 tours (on average 10 people per tour and £10 per person): £600
Food for 6 tours (on average £5 per person): £300
3 blue umbrellas with our logo on so people can find us: £28.28
Total Cost: £928.28
