Wheelchair Rugby League is the most inclusive and open sport in the world, in that it offers all players of all abilities and all genders the opportunity to compete both with and against each other on a level playing field.
We are Wales Wheelchair Rugby League and we represent Wales in World Cups and other international tournaments. All of our players and officials are volunteers and give up their time for the love of representing their country.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are raising funds to support the Welsh National Wheelchair Rugby League Team to help with costs towards their Irish Tour to Galway where they will play the first ever Wheelchair Rugby League international matches on Irish soil. Wales are taking part in the Celtic Cup, a tournament that they've won on the last seven occasions. They will be facing Ireland and Scotland in a one-day event. The funds raised from this page will go towards reducing the significant costs that players and staff need to raise to take part in the tour.
How we’ll spend the money raised?
The money will be spent on travel and accommodation for the players and staff, plus their entry fee for the tournament.
Community impact
Research has shown that playing a team sport, is not only good physically, but mentally as well.
Playing wheelchair rugby league can drastically reduce stress levels and help to combat depression as well as many other mental health problems.
Wheelchair rugby league is also fun and a great way to make new friends, and is open to all, whatever age, ability or gender.
A successful tour will bring Wales Wheelchair Rugby League into more prominence in Wales and will hopefully encourage more players to participate and more domestic sides to be set up.
How you can play your part
We're asking for your help to make it a memorable tour for all players and the backroom staff and to grow the sport of Wheelchair Rugby League even further!
If you are a local business/individual or a supporter of Wales Rugby League and would like to contribute to help us get to our target, then please do make a donation and share our project as far as you can, as the more people we reach, the more support we will get.
