Wake Up Your Artist Refugee places 2019
We did it
On 11th March 2019 we successfully raised £500 with 26 supporters in 28 days

To create a scholarship for those with refugee backgrounds to attend our Wake Up Your Artist retreat at the Plum Village centre in Germany

by joe-holtaway in Waldbröl, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

As we did last year - we are again collecting to create a scholarship bursary fund for those with a refugee/asylum seeker backgrounds to attend the Wake Up Your Artist retreat this Spring at the EIAB.

£500 would cover the stay and the travel with some money left for lunch and a tea on the way/home and a book from the bookshop!

The Wake Up movement has been involved the last few years with refugee projects as well as Wake Uppers working on other projects that aim to build a culture of welcome and support.

We have friends in Refugee support networks in Germany who are offering the places.

Our wish is that by offering places on the retreats we can contribute to this.

Can you help?

All contributions no matter the size is appreciated.

A Course with Larissa Mazbouh and Joe Holtaway

Wake UP welcomes everyone and invites you to explore your creativity this spring! You are invited to participate in a week full of workshops letting you explore your creativity: Writing, painting, singing and movement. We will investigate the relationship between what’s inside of uns and how we express ourselves towards the outside world in a playful way. Join us and participate in this adventure!
At certain times during the day we will practice with the community of monks and nuns; at other times we will meet with the Wake Up Group. We will also spend time outside, especially to explore the peace of the woods in the vicinity of EIAB.

School and university students, and people on a limited income will receive a discount.

Got an idea like this?

Over £200 million has been raised from our crowd to support the projects they love! Plus tens of millions more unlocked by our partners.
