Wags Retired Police Dogs

RCN 1186608, Bristol

WAGS Retired Police Dog Charity is an independent charity set up to help the retired Police Dogs from Wiltshire, Avon, Gloucestershire and Somerset Police. WAGS provides financial assistance in emergency situations where a large vets bill may mean a decision is made about the dogs future based on cost. We are hoping with WAGS help any decisions are based only on the dogs welfare needs.

Thank you for taking time to visit our page.  WAGS (Wiltshire, Avon, Gloucestershire & Somerset) Retired Police Dog Charity was established to provide financial assistance with expensive veterinary fees to ensure the Retired Police Dogs receive the best care and live a healthy, happy retirement.
Police Dogs retire around the ages of 8 to 10 years old, it is virtually impossible to get pet insurance for them, especially when they retire with existing or ongoing conditions and medication needs. From the date the Police Dogs retire the ownership is transferred to their owner from the respective Police Forces. The Police Forces at this point cease to provide financial support to the dogs. WAGS raises vital funds to financially support the Retired Police Dogs to ensure any decisions are based only on the dogs welfare needs without the worry to the owners of where the finance will come from to save them. Some veterinary life saving surgeries can cost thousands of pounds.
