Supporting young people and vulnerable older people over Christmas through our 2023 Christmas Cracker parties.

2023 Christmas Appeal

This festive period Wigan Athletic Community Trust are hosting two Christmas Cracker parties to support vulnerable young people and socially isolated older people to have a memorable Christmas.  

Your donation will enable us to provide packages of Christmas presents, food and winter essentials to all participants at our Christmas Cracker parties. 

Held at the DW Stadium, the Christmas Crackers will feature Christmas activities, presents for participants and Christmas themed food to ensure everyone has an enjoyable Christmas. 

The first party, held on Monday 11th December, will focus on supporting participants on our youth engagement programmes who may not be able to experience a traditional Christmas this year. 

The first Christmas cracker will feature:

• Fun Christmas games 
• Christmas themed bingo 
• Goody bags for each participant and prizes to win during games 
• A behind the scenes tour of the DW Stadium.

The second Christmas cracker will take place on Thursday 21st December and will support members of our Extra Time Hubs who are over 55 and in danger of social isolation. 

The event will involve

• Christmas meal 
• Prize Raffle Draw
• Christmas themed quiz and social activities

Funding up to £2,770 will also generously be match-funded by Wigan Council.

This project successfully funded on 25th December 2023
