Go on, give in to Giving Tuesday! Why support VoyageVert?

It's Giving Tuesday!  Among Black Fridays and Cyber Mondays here's a day of hope and giving, of dreaming and supporting. Sharing visions of a more beautiful world, one pledge at a time.

We'd like to ask for your attention and tell you why, among the countless worthy causes that you could donate to today, we will make huge waves in our shared duty to care for each other and our planet.

For those that don't know - VoyageVert ('Green travel' in French - oh la la!) see a future where travelling the planet does not damage it. Where going long distances isn't about missing everything that's in-between and feeling a bit weird and frazzled after touch down. Of course, we're referring to air travel here, in particular long-haul flights... So what's the solution?

Drum roll please...

We at VoyageVert are sailors. Can you see what's coming?  Now, wait, we know that the sea is a scary place for many and that's not unreasonable. It can be rough out there. But take a second and consider that most people thought flying in the air at 36,000ft would never take off!  Now look at where we are.

Okay, we're not proposing some new revolutionary mode of transport - some highly technological, never-been-seen-before, eye-popping feat of human engineering and design. Well, actually we are, but that's later. What we're proposing now is the plan to get us there.

You may not have heard of us before because we have been partying like good sailors after being donated a £6million boat for our pilot project! But now it's down to the real business. By 2018 we'll be selling tickets to journey across the Atlantic between Southampton and Boston in 7-10 days. By the way, did you know that there's currently no way of crossing the world's largest oceans without burning considerable quantities of fossil fuels? We want to provide an alternative, the only sustainable alternative to long-haul flights.

So there you have it. Passenger sailing ferries. Yes you'll have questions and doubts, no doubt (see our FAQs below).  This is an almighty project involving many important areas and considerations - we know - we've considered them all.  Currently we have many people and professionals, including seasoned salty sea dogs and naval architects on the case. But, crowd, we need your help.

We need your help to get us through some exciting, no-nonsense legal papers, IMO/SOLAS safety reports (you know the ones?), vessel registrations and what not. We need your help by showing your support, even if it's in the form of just one of your finest Great British pounds, to show investors that this project has oomph or va-va-voom, no... gusto.

Help us take the first steps to -
 - commit to reducing global carbon emissions
 - provide life-changing travel experiences
 - offer ocean sunsets and sailing with dolphins
 - give that feeling when sailing in to unknown harbours
 - create a more mindful way to travel and see the world
 - give people a new respect and understanding of the world's oceans
