VoteClimate is recruiting 1million people to vote tactically for climate at the next election to get it into the mainstream party manifestos

by Ben Horton in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom

I've been campaigning on climate since 2018, after I read a book called "A Farewell To Ice" and discovered that, instead of having decades to deal with climate change, we're heading towards an emergency that needs massive action now - to prevent just the worst consequences.

I had the idea for VoteClimate after leafleting Cambridge Winter Fair in December 2022. I asked how people felt about climate change on a scale of 0 (not worried) to 10 (very worried). Most answered 9!

VoteClimate empowers ordinary people to use their democratic power to get the mainstream parties to take the climate emergency seriously in their manifestos at the next general election.

It works like this:

1 Join https://voteclimate.uk
2 We tell you at the next election which party that could win in your seat has the best climate policy
3 We tell the parties ahead of the next election so they commit in their manifestos to ambitious action on climate, to win more votes and seats

Your generous donations will be used for press and promotion to recruit 1 million members, so we can force the mainstream parties to promise ambitious action to tackle the climate crisis.
