Aim

Raising funds to stand in Ayr, as an Independent candidate. Donations fund the deposit and campaign leaflets.

Hi folks, my name is Denise Sommerville, and I’m standing as an Independent candidate in the Scottish Parliament election in May 2026 for the Ayr constituency.

I’m not a career politician. I’m a community activist, a mother, and someone who has spent years working at the grassroots level to support my community. I’m standing because I believe Scotland deserves leadership that is rooted in lived experience and the courage to stand up for our communities.

Like many independent candidates, I am funding my campaign myself. To stand in the election, I must cover the cost of the candidate deposit and campaign materials, including printing and delivering leaflets across the constituency so voters can hear directly about the campaign and the issues affecting Ayr and the wider community.

Too many communities across Scotland have been ignored for too long. We see it in struggling local economies, public services under pressure, and decisions that too often feel distant from the people they affect.

I believe politics should put people and communities before party interests, and that Scotland’s future should be shaped by those who live and work here.

If you believe in grassroots politics and independent representation, please consider donating to help get this campaign off the ground. Your support will help fund the leaflets and deposit needed to stand in the election and reach voters across Ayr.

Every contribution helps build a people-powered campaign.

 I appreciate your support.
