I've been selected as Scottish Labour's candidate for the Glasgow Central seat. I've never been a candidate before, and I need your help.
I'm not a politician. I'm a working Mum of four fantastic kids, standing to represent the city where I was raised and where I've lived my whole life, in our Scottish Parliament.
I'm standing because the public services that my family have needed over the last few years simply haven't been there - and I know it's the same for people across our great city. After nearly two decades of the SNP's rule, I believe it's time for a new direction with Anas Sarwar leading a Scottish Labour government.
I'm a confident, capable campaigner with the energy and enthusiasm to win Glasgow Central for Scottish Labour, but to do so I need to raise money so that I can buy leaflets to deliver to every house, to run adverts on social media and to help set up a campaign office.
I can't do this without your help and support, in fact I'm counting on it. I would be beyond grateful if you would consider contributing towards my campaign and I promise that every penny will go directly towards taking Labour's message to voters in Glasgow Central.
Rules
Donations to a political party are regulated by the Political Parties Elections and Referendums Act 2000. By making a donation to the Labour Party, you are accepting the following terms and conditions:
- I am donating to the Glasgow Central Constituency Labour Party.
- I must use my own funds to make a donation to the Labour Party.
- If I donate more than £500, checks will be made to ensure my name is listed on the UK electoral register (excluding the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man). Any single donations of £500 or under are not regulated donations under electoral law, and therefore the donor would not be required to be on the UK Electoral Register.
- If I donate more than £2,230 to a Constituency Labour Party or more than £11,180 to the national Labour Party in a calendar year, my name and the amount of the donation will be published on the Electoral Commission's website, although my home address will not be made public.
- Donations are not tax-deductible.
- Donations made above the reporting threshold will be available for public inspection on request, although my home address will not be made public.
This donation facility is provided for individuals to make donations to the Glasgow Central CLP. UK companies, limited liability partnerships, trade unions and unincorporated associations may also make donations.
Permissibility checks will be carried out on individual donors in compliance with the rules laid out by the Electoral Commission on donations in election campaigns. You will be contacted by the Glasgow Central CLP Secretary to obtain this information. Donor details may be published.
