We are aiming to fund a minimum of 3 volunteer advisors. Each volunteer advisor costs our charity £1,200 each in basic training costs.
We are Citizens Advice Eastleigh. We're on the front-line of the cost of living crisis every day. And we're run by volunteers, local people giving up their time to provide vital advice and information, no matter what the problem. And it's not often that we see times quite as tough as these.
We help with all kinds of problems, the main ones being:
Citizens Advice Eastleigh has been going for 80 years, embedded in the community we serve and helping thousands of local people every year. We recognise that the coming years are going to see increased rates of poverty and distress and we are pulling out all the stops to ensure that we can help as many people as we can - and this is where you come in.
We are experiencing record-breaking demand for our services as people grapple with the cost-of-living-crisis. We want to grow, to increase our reach and be able to train more volunteers to take more calls from the public in need. Our clients tell us that calling us is their favourite way to reach us and we want to make sure we can take as many calls as we can.
All funds raised will be spent on providing in-depth, quality, essential training to help support at least 3 new volunteer advisers. Our volunteers work with lots of clients every single day and last year they helped over 2,247 people with 12,260 issues and over the last 4 years we have seen around 11,000 clients and helped with over 56,000 issues. The training we provide is expensive at around £1,200 per volunteer. As an independent charity, these are funds that we must source ourselves. It is absolutely necessary training for both the volunteers and our clients.
We support our volunteers as much as possible to help them feel confident and to succeed with us, which is why we provide such in depth training. We wouldn’t be able to help so many people every year without our volunteers! Can you help us by supporting us?
