Empowering fellow young people worldwide to share their vision of the future through the creative arts, to inform the design of tomorrow

by Curriculum for Life Youth Circle in United Kingdom

Our youth-led project calls on young people worldwide to express their visions of the future through the creative arts, to be displayed in an online walk-through gallery for the world to see.

40% of the world’s population is under 25, but their voices are often unheard. The universal language of creative expression can amplify youth voices globally. Voices of Tomorrow is a youth-led initiative ignited by the big response to one of our Youth Circle team members in Afghanistan sharing her art online in 2023. We are now providing a platform for young people to share their work with the world to inspire change and inform decision-makers who hold power to create a better tomorrow.

Our mission is for young people to:

  • Harness their creativity to inspire leaders and drive meaningful change
  • Share their artistic talent with a global audience through online platforms
  • Express their ideas and perspectives through the universal language of art
  • Connect with a broader community, fostering growth, collaboration, and opportunities to sell their work
  • Develop their creative skills and confidence to make a lasting impact in their communities and beyond.

This is an inclusive project open to all young people. We are receiving artworks that reflect a wide range of responses to the future, from feelings of happiness and hope to expressions of marginalisation, the impacts of climate change and conflict. Young people, ranging in age from 5 to 25, are using their creativity to advocate for peace, equality, and a better tomorrow. Through their art, they are sharing powerful messages that call for change and envision a more just and sustainable future.

The first wave of submissions will be showcased on World Children’s Day, November 20, 2024 in an innovative, virtual walk-through gallery space exhibiting key themes. The gallery space will host ongoing themed exhibitions for years to come.

Voices of Tomorrow is open to all youth under 25. We are welcoming artistic contributions of any format, style or skill level. We are looking for creative expressions, not masterpieces. Young people and youth leaders/teachers can register and submit artworks on our webpage. We have designed a one-hour workshop that can be used by anyone who'd like to help young people to start imagining their future through the creative arts and to submit their artworks as a group.

We have a group of enthusiastic volunteer ambassadors all over the world who are spreading the word. Our Voices of Tomorrow communication kit and other resources include images, social media posts, posters and presentations to help people to advertise the project in any youth setting.

Who we are

Curriculum for Life is a small educational charity based in the UK, co-creating life skills resources in the global creative commons together with young people. The Voices of Tomorrow project is a partnership between Curriculum for Life and our tech partner, THE 4th DIMENSION. The project was initiated by the Curriculum for Life international Youth Circle after one of us, Tajala from Afghanistan, shared one of her paintings online. It sparked a wave of artistic expression from other young people around the world. Now, we are taking this movement to the next level!

We need your support

This is a start up project by young people with adult support. With a high proportion of voluntary work, we are able to keep our core costs low. The team worked hard to secure initial seed funding from the Bic Corporate Foundation and The Ormiston Trust, with the knowledge that we would build on this wonderful initial support.

Achieving our target will provide stipends to sustain our team for a year, enabling us to manage and grow the project and coordinate an international and intergenerational volunteer network. Together with our tech partner, we will repurpose and adapt an existing digital walk-through gallery to share the artwork publicly and with decision making bodies such as the United Nations and others.

We’re seeking £50,000 or a stretch goal of £75,000 if we can make it. Your donation will enable the expansion of a growing youth community and impact young people far and wide. The results are already visible and shared on our social media. We invite you to support a movement founded by young people that can play a part in our shared future.

How you can help

  • Give a donation of a one-off gift or a monthly contribution. Any amount is welcomed!
  • All one-off donations of £500 or more will be entered into a prize draw to receive an original piece of art from a selection of pieces being showcased at our first exhibition.
  • Larger donations or sponsorships from individuals, organisations and foundations can receive a place on our sponsor wall in the virtual walk-through gallery - please contact us to discuss this.
  • Join the opening of the upcoming online exhibition on November 20, 2024 - contact us to receive all the relevant links and information.
  • Follow us on social media and help spread the word. We are sharing inspiring youth art from around the world that you can repost.
  • Share our project with your community, school, college or family, and encourage the young people in your life to contribute their creative vision.

Be part of a global movement to empower the next generation and support Voices of Tomorrow today. Thank you!
