The Boy with a Golden Voice Ltd is a new media and development production company dedicated to creating an inspiring, and commercially successful property. It has a mission is to make the world of film more grounded for communication through the power of biopic world story. IP with a focus on driving and producing projects that resonate with audiences and create new projects that will spark positive change making the catalyst difference one story at a time.
The production is lead by Film Industry professionals Ray Davies and Chris Samwells and supported by a team with with more than 150 years combined experience in the Film and Music businesses.
This project started with a conversation between an Irishman, an Englishman and a Welshman! It has developed over the last 3 months into a first draft screenplay, a search for new talent to play the child lead and his elder self at 30. Both having to have spectacular voices!
This, to tell the remarkable true life story of an orphaned coal miner's son who became the Voice of the Valleys and sang in front of the Royal Family at the Albert Hall to launch Land of our Fathers as the Welsh National Anthem.
As we researched this true story, the more we have realised that it tells of us of Welsh Heritage, the true story from the heart of Wales and due attention to detail needs further research and structure. Our hero Robert Rees was also tutored by a world famous soprano Adelina Patti, and they sang for Abraham Lincoln.
Also the importance of the Temperance movement and its history, still socially relevant now in 2026. The largest group of people abstaining from drinking alcohol are aged between 16-24 in the British Isles.
Your funding will be used to further research and develop the script. In Wales, the United States of America and Italy.
Once we are happy with the final script, we aim to pursue all routes to market. But need to attract philanthropists to provide the equity necessary to match the government subsidies that this project qualifies for.
We will release the marketing plan and distribution strategies to serious investors.
So this funding is our seed capital to develop, structure and package the movie,
VOICE OF THE VALLEYS.
