Fight the good fight! I will note that I don't think enough emphasis is being given to the biochemical process when mega-dose Vitamin C is delivered intravenously. To wit, if mega-doses are infused as a bolus, the sodium-dependent Vitamin C transporters (SVCTs) are saturated, and the "excess" C catalyzes the iron in the blood leading to the downstream formation of hydrogen peroxide. It is not unreasonable to conjecture that the peroxide is exerting an antiseptic approach in vivo. It should also be noted that intracellular Catalase neutralizes the peroxide by degrading it to an H2O and O2. A side benefit of this degradation is that it results in increased blood oxygenation.

Please accept my humble donation. My name is Pavel, I’m from Belarus. I take vitamin C supplmnts almost daily for years. Last time I was seriously sick was at the end of 2019. One evening few weeks ago I felt I was getting sick - fever, headache, runny nose, overall weakness, later smell and taste reduced to ~20%. Right away that evening I took a handful of vitamin C pills (around 2g). In the morning I felt much better. Got back to work on the next day, fully recovered. Pretty amazing.
