We need your help to make our facilities Covid secure and fit for purpose - by widening the entrance and updating the toilets.

Victory Park Bowls club celebrated its centenary in 2019. In that year we had 75 members, both male and female and our membership age was between 8 and 90+.

We play friendly games of bowls with other clubs from the surrounding area both during the week and at week-ends. As we are affiliated with Bowls England, both the ladies and men also play competitive league games throughout the county and quite a number of our members play for Gloucestershire County teams.
Our bowls green is on the edge of Victory Park, and is open to the public should they choose to try the game and one of our members would be on hand to advise and help. We hold open days each year and have been successful in welcoming new members through this as well as from local advertising and through word of mouth.
Like so many local community clubs Victory Park Bowls Club has suffered a loss of funds during the Coronavirus pandemic. We were unable to open at all during 2020, resulting in a reduction of income and fundraising opportunities. At the same time the upkeep of the bowling green and the clubhouse was still a priority.
Now as we return to bowls we need to spend additional funds bringing the club entrance and toilets up to the standard needed to provide a Covid secure place.
The entrance is too narrow to pass safely and the toilets are inadequate, both in the number of them, but also in their construction and with the increased need for additional hygiene measures to ensure that our members and visitors are not put to unnecessary risk.
If we are able to improve both the entrance to the club house and also the toilet facilities then we will be able to offer our facilities to a more diverse section of the local Community.
