The campaign is to raise funds for a a new life size painted memorial mural of professional speedway rider Vic Harding on Canvey Island.
The proposal is for the mural to be sited on an unused (blank) section of the Canvey Island sea wall where Vic used to run as part of his physical training. Located on the riverward side alongside the existing murals. Both sides of the wall contain walkways that are frequented by walkers, runners, cyclists, bathers and dog walkers, it will be visually stimulating and impactful whilst providing information and interest to both residents and visitors to Canvey. It will also serve as a memorial to Vic Harding.
The mural is expected to cost £1,500 and 100% of the fund will be paid directly to the mural artist. Please donate whatever you can, any donation for any amount will help and as soon as the target amount is reached work on the mural will begin.
Permission for the mural has been approved by the relevant councils and EA.
