There are over 5,000 veterans now living in the borough of Wyre, with over 150 of those regularly taking part in wellbeing activities provided by Fleetwood Town Community Trust.

Fleetwood Town Community Trust are the registered charity associated to Fleetwood Town FC, providing sport, education, inclusion and health provision for the wider community across the district.

On Saturday 25th February 2023, The Veterans Walk for Wellbeing will commence, starting from Morecambe's Mazuma Stadium, with Community Trust staff and volunteers completing the 20.4 mile walk to the home of Fleetwood Town FC, Highbury Stadium, ahead of the League One fixture.

The Trust are aiming to raise £2,000 which will help sustain health and wellbeing activities for the remainder of 2023 on a weekly occurrence. All activities aim to enhance the lives of it's community encouraging social and physical development for veterans and their family members.  In the face of the cost of living crisis we aim to provide vital free spaces in the face of rising energy costs whilst providing warm spaces for veterans and family members to access. The funds will also allow us to reach a wider audience across the Fylde Coast community.
