Self-care and mindfulness based therapy can demonstrate a positive impact through a series of interventions and strategies when perfectly aligned to the veteran space.
Identified by university doctors during three Mind Force Retreat test pilots in 2020 / 2021 & 2022 using high intensity veteran referrals, wellness, self-care and various mindfulness based therapy techniques
After three successful test pilots the Mind Force Retreat project by The Block Armed Forces Foundation is now aiming to open up the first wellness and support centre on Merseyside specially designed for Armed Forces Veteran
First things first we must now secure funding for our own therapy counsellor based at our Head Quarters in Liverpool United Kingdom.
The focus is on veterans with Complex PTSD and related depression, by delivering treatment but also mindfulness based therapy, wellness advice including group sessions & one to one.
The Mind Force Retreat pilot project was very successful now it’s time to secure the projects future..
We are now fundraising for costs to complete the next phase of the project, by building a sustainable and impactful strategic pathway Options.
Supporting on average 250 + veterans a year with counselling and therapy based at the fully established charity base on Walton Road Liverpool United Kingdom.
In June 2024 we helped our 100th street homeless veteran with emergency housing and supported accommodation. By supporting these veterans our charity relieved pressure on local services and on average at our drop in hub we see 300 veterans year asking for a wider range of support. From mental health to food parcels due to the cost of living crisis. Without a doubt mental health plays a big factor so by having our own counsellor we will change the lives of so Armed Forces families.
We are fundraising for £45,00 - £50,000 for a mental health therapist to be based at our HQ in Liverpool.
If you can donate even £1 please do, if not then please share the page so others can donate.
