It has Been clinically proven that talking to likeminded people and community cohesion is highly effective at relieving stress and improving mental health in Armed forces veterans.
The Block CIC offers serving Armed forces, Blue light emergency staff, veterans and their families a safe warm space to talk to likeminded people.
The Aim of this fundraiser is to pay for hot pot, Bread and cooking fuel for the outdoor stoves once a month for around 15-20 veterans on a Friday( Hot pot Fridays).
We have been conducting hot pot Fridays since September 2022 and they have been very effective at getting local veterans out of isolation and into our community group open door sessions.
The Block offers free holistic, non clinical therapy to the community, operating with a 100% volunteer management, the Block is funded by public donations from the community.
The Block was born during the pandemic lockdown in order to prevent loneliness, suicide and homeless.
The aim of this funder raiser is to pay for our weekly hot pot Friday meetings, preventing hunger, preventing isolation and giving our community a warm place to sit and relax at least once a week is vital to our on going program.
We have came along way since we started in 2020, with the communities support from fundraisers like this we can now do what we set up to do and provide assistance for mental health, employment, housing and community support.
