Support us in our aim to compete in Europe's most prestigious educational engineering competition - Formula Student!
Every year, University of Strathclyde Motorsport design, build, market and race a single-seater racing car as part of the global Formula Student initiative, a series of international competitions focused on developing engineering talent in a practical, competitive and high-octane environment.

USM is made of students from across Strathclyde's many engineering and business faculties that put their blood, sweat and tears (of joy) into ensuring USM continues to compete at the highest possible level, both on the racetrack and off.

Please support our Crowdfunder campaign through which we aim to raise £1000 to contribute towards the costs of competing in Formula Student UK 2018. This will include;

What is Formula Student?
Formula Student is an international engineering and design competition in which teams of students design, build and race single-seater race cars. Cars are judged not only on racing performance during dynamic events, but also on design and build quality, financial efficiency, environmental impact and the car's appeal to an open race car market.

Why is it important to us?
The Strathclyde Formula Student team involves students from over 4 departments. It offers the students hands on experience which has proven invaluable in future job interviews for any mechanical, automotive or motorsport based careers. In addition to being a brilliant addition to their CV’s the competition teaches the students a range of valuable and transferable practical skills, teamwork and communication.
