Urgent Medical Care For Child Victim Of Bandits!

Please help Success with the urgent surgery she desperately needs, so she is not left disfigured for life after being shot twice by bandits.

Success is a six-year-old Nigerian Christian girl who was shot twice after her village was attacked by Fulani bandits. The bandits targeted her community, killing nine people and shooting Success in the back and foot as she and her mother fled for their lives.

During surgery, doctors were forced to remove part of her ankle bone because of the damage caused by the bullet. She now urgently requires reconstructive surgery to restore her mobility and give her the best chance of walking normally again.

We have been told that Success has so far spent around ₦450,000 (£245) on treatment. She is now due to be referred to a specialist hospital but is struggling to afford the treatment she desperately needs. The total cost is estimated at around ₦3.5 million (£1,910), including a skin graft and the reconstructive ankle surgery.

Healthcare in Nigeria is not free, and it is vital that we quickly raise the funds needed to help Success. Her family is haemorrhaging money as she remains in a hospital bed that they have to pay for every day, making the already difficult task of saving enough money for her treatment increasingly impossible.

Success should not have her childhood taken from her because armed extremists decided that innocent people were acceptable targets.

If we raise more than the amount required for Success's treatment, the additional funds will be used to purchase any specialist equipment she needs during her recovery.
