Boosting 2-acres of nature and organic food growing in a deprived urban area. Fun for kids, skills for adults & a wildlife abundance.
In inner city Bradford there are 2 acres of green space for wildlife, organic fruit and veg growing, and bringing the community together. Help us to enhance and preserve this special place for generations to come. Your donations will help make participation possible; in the kids sessions when they hold a worm for the first time or plant a pea; the mindfulness garden where people find time to breathe, connect, and nurture veg plants; and our Growing Hope sessions that provide a sanctuary for asylum seekers and refugees.

Vital work to enable use of the site is carried out by an amazing team of volunteers. We want this to continue with a session every week for people to get outdoors, share skills, socialise and make a difference. Our 1-acre nature area will get a biodiversity boost and become more accessible with new paths, more varied habitats, nature trails and a wildlife camera. Our extensive veg growing areas will be renovated and go on producing nutritious produce and rewarding activities for the groups that use our site.

Your money will go a very long way. Donations are match funded 2:1 by the Wild Isles Fund (RSPB and WWF) meaning your £10 would become £30!
Not only that, but a portion of the total raised will match fund a grant we are applying for to improve our venue for the activities we will deliver as part of Bradford's Year of Culture in 2025.
When we started around 12 years ago, the land was part of an abandoned allotment site blighted by massive neglect, vandalism and fly-tipping.

We’ve slowly transformed it into a wonderful place enjoyed by lots of people every week. Long may it continue!
Horton Community Farm's core staff team are 3 diverse local people that have been committed to the project for years. We are hugely grateful to all the volunteers who give so much. And it would all be for nothing if it wasn't for all the attendees of our various sessions who bring so much life to the space! We are a co-operative and all profits are invested back into the organisation.

Save Our Wild Isles Community Fund has provided £7,464 of match funding
