Aim

Bracebridge Heath Cricket Club is on a mission to make cricket accessible for all, starting with adding an artificial playing pitch.

Bracebridge Heath Cricket Club is a community club based on the outskirts of Lincoln. We have a proud history of success having won the Lincolnshire Premier League on multiple occasions. We want to expand this success to juniors, women and girls by giving them a quality, reliable surface on which to learn the game of cricket.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We're crowdfunding to upgrade our facilities and make us a more attractive offering to women, girls and juniors. The women's and girl's game is a brilliant opportunity for growth and, whilst an exciting opportunity, does come with it's challenges.

More demand for cricket means more demand for facilities. Whilst we have a fantastic groundsman at BHCC, he can only do so much with what we have. More cricket on overworked grass pitches results in a substandard playing surface, and therefore playing experience, for our members.

The proposed artificial match pitch will provide a high quality surface that is guaranteed to be available and consistent throughout the summer. This will allow our women, girls and mixed juniors to play more cricket at a better level, helping to keep them active and invested in our wonderful sport.

How we’ll spend the money raised

We plan to spend the money on two pieces of infrastructure.

The main spend will be on the artificial match pitch. This will be supplied by a reputable installer and comply with all ECB requirements so as to be an investment that is worthwhile of our current and future members.

We will also spend some of the money raised on a replacement for our current electronic scoreboard. Our current scoreboard is faulty and let us down a number of times in 2025. The new board will feature an upgraded software system which will be much easier to operate, hopefully providing less of a barrier to our current and future volunteers.1770412548_screenshot_2026-02-06_205014.png

Community impact

This facility upgrade, if successful, will provide the opportunity for more active people in our community. The main beneficiaries will be local women, girls and junior cricketers. All of whom would see their access to quality playing and practise facilities increased. Bracebridge Heath is a village which is set to grow sharply in population after a number of large planning applications have been successful. Projects like this are vital to provide all residents, new and existing, with facilities that will withstand the rise in usage which comes inevitably with a growing population.

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!

5. Support our first team captain and vice captain as they embark on an epic show of endurance in order to encourage donations! They'll need all the help they can get...
