Support our new Community Hub in Angell Town, Brixton. Creating opportunities, activities and events for young people who need them most.
We’re upCYCLE LDN, a Brixton-based social enterprise using cycling as a tool to support mobility, confidence and opportunity for young people and communities who are often excluded from active travel and public space. Since 2020, we’ve worked across Lambeth and Southwark, donating bikes, running maintenance workshops, delivering cycling lessons and mentoring programmes, all designed to help people move more freely, build skills and feel connected to their area.
Our team includes instructors, mechanics, mentors and volunteers, most of whom live in or are closely connected to the communities we serve. We believe that access to safe, supported mobility can be life-changing, enabling people to get to school, work, services and social spaces with confidence and independence.

With the support of Lambeth Council, The National Lottery, BBC Children in Need and the London Marathon Foundation, we’ve opened a new community cycling hub in Angell Town, Brixton. The hub is now active and welcoming residents, young people and families through a mix of programmes, events and open access support.
From the hub, we’re delivering ongoing cycling and skills activity for young people aged 11–18, including hands-on bike mechanics training, regular cycling lessons and group rides, cycling experiences such as BMX sessions and visits to the Herne Hill Velodrome, 1:1 mentoring and employability support.

The hub also operates as a base for bike repair, servicing and community events, helping to remove practical barriers to cycling and making active travel more accessible locally.
Our work directly addresses barriers such as inactivity, isolation, unsafe travel options and lack of opportunity, issues that disproportionately affect Black and racially minoritised communities. By focusing on mobility and skills, we support people to move through their neighbourhoods with greater confidence, independence and agency.
Your contribution supports the ongoing delivery of this work, including staff time, cycling equipment, tools, workshop materials and volunteer costs. This ensures that programmes remain free to access and that we can offer consistent, meaningful support rather than one-off activity.

With your support, we’re building a space that is active, welcoming and rooted in the community, helping people move more, travel further and access opportunities that last.
