Aim

To raise funds to provide learning materials for primary school students at the Akosombo Presby Primary School in Ghana - West Africa.

We are a group of committed students from the University of Northampton, who intend on making change in the world no matter how small, by helping those who are disadvantaged.

Each year we run a street law project where we use our knowledge of the law to help disadvantaged people as well as those who may lack relevant legal knowledge in particular areas. Last year for example, we ran a local project for EU nationals to inform them of their migration rights as there was an increase in the deportation of EU nationals in Northampton at that time. This year we want to expand our reach into a part of the world that has a booming population of young people in need of education!

We have chosen to fundraise for the benefit of the disadvantaged children at the Akosombo Presby Primary School in the Eastern Region of Ghana - West Africa. Many children in Africa cannot afford to go to school and when they can, many cannot even afford the everyday school essentials that we in the western world almost take for granted; books, stationary, shoes, school bags amongst others . Sadly, the conditions at the Akosombo Presby Primary school are extremely poor - affecting the children’s learning environment considerably - and this means that getting a good education is extremely difficult.

Our goal is to encourage the young pupils at the Akosombo Presby Primary School  to aspire to become lawyers in the future by helping them to develop the habit of reading (a most necessary quality essential to anyone who intends to study law and become a lawyer). The funds we raise here will go towards the purchase of books, stationary and the other essential required to achieve this.

We believe that everyone should have the right to a good education and we want to motivate, move and inspire these young children towards a life-changing career. We can’t do this without your help, so please help us to help the disadvantaged children at Akosombo Presby Primary School!

We choose to be Change Makers - donate now and become a Change Maker too!
