To reduce the financial burden asked of members to attend Formula Student competitions both in the UK and abroad.
Every year, the University of Strathclyde Motorsport designs, builds, markets and races a single-seater racing car as part of the global Formula Student initiative, a series of international competitions focused on developing engineering and business talent in a practical, competitive and high-octane environment. Since 2021, we have transitioned to manufacturing electric vehicles, racing at both Silverstone and the Hockenheimring.
USM is made up of over 250 students spread across every faculty, priding itself on an open and welcoming environment. The team prioritises continuous development of both performance, but more importantly it's students, through passing on the learning of 27 years of students who came before.

Formula Student is an international engineering and design competition in which teams of students design, build and race single-seater race cars. Cars are judged not only on racing performance during dynamic events, but also on design and build quality, financial efficiency, environmental impact and the car's appeal to an open race car market in the cost and business case presentations.

The team at the University of Strathclyde Motorsport are making our return to European competitions as we make our first ever appearance at FS France in addition to our annual attendance at FSUK. Attendance at these competitions, particularly the logistical costs of transporting our vehicle, equipment and the team, with this cost rising exponentially over the previous years. Your support will reduce the amount required to be self funded by the team, reducing barriers faced by students and providing the opportunity for them to experience these fantastic events and celebrate the incredible work done by them over the year.
Any additional funding raised will be put towards the purchase of high quality equipment to improve the experience of every single student involved in this project.
Your support can change a students journey.
