Aim

Between now and Christmas, three trustees will run, swim or cycle, together travelling the distance from Southampton to Sheffield (332km!).

After a successful year launching our first ever Band Camp, and the first post-COVID in person brass band contest, UniBrass wants to launch into 2022 with even bigger and better plans, including a return to our usual contest on February 5th 2022.

Why are we doing this?

All of our lives have been impacted by COVID, but both students, and the arts have been particularly damaged, with bands unable to recruit or rehearse over 2 academic years. We want to make sure university brass banding can continue to have a national platform. We want to ensure UniBrass, and Band Camp 2022 will be back and better than ever and students can continue to play at the UK's only university brass banding contest.

What are we doing?

Three UniBrass Trustees will contribute one leg of a triathlon the distance from Southampton to Sheffield. Over 5 weeks, Megan will be swimming 9.6km, Ewan will be running 64km, and Sam will be cycling 258km

Why Southampton to Sheffield?

Universities across the UK come to UniBrass every year, but whilst in Sheffield, Southampton will have the furthest to travel. As we run, swim and cycle UniBrass to Sheffield, we hope you can help bring UniBrass to Sheffield too by supporting this fundraiser.

Who are we?

We are three volunteers for UniBrass who all sit on the trustee board, supported by runners, cyclists and swimmers from other university brass band teams. If you want to see updates from the runners, have a look at our social media or checkout the UniBrass club on Strava.
