Pre-order my debut album 'Daughter of Nature' & help bring Under the Oak – songs, poems & stories from my year with an oak tree – to life!
I recently spent a year, from winter solstice to winter solstice, meditating under an oak tree. I climbed the hill each day, and sat for around half an hour under the oak, then went back down again.
Out of that stillness and attention (and wild weather, boisterous dogs and mishaps), a body of songs and poems emerged that helped me understand, process and communicate what was happening ... and how we all might explore our relationship with the natural world, as well as the healing available to us all that dwells just beyond our day-to-day awareness.
I'm calling this creative project 'Under the Oak' – and at its heart lies my debut album, Daughter of Nature.
This crowdfunder (thanks for checking it out!) is both a pre-sale of the album and an invitation to help bring the wider 'Under the Oak' project to life: an evening (or afternoon, I like early nights!) of songs, poems and stories shared live with musical friends, and an ongoing community where people can gather around music, nature and healing.
Your support will help me to:

Under the Oak is about reciprocal belonging, creativity and healing, and how each of us, through a deepening connection to nature, can remember our way back to wholeness.
The first six songs from the album have already been released on streaming platforms and have clocked up over 200,000 streams, which is humbling and exciting! You may have already listened, and that's what brought you here! However as you know the world of music streaming doesn't see a financial return until you've got squillions of streams. So until that time (it's going to happen!), bearing in mind me and the (small but perfectly formed) record label have already paid for production of the songs, what I really need your help with is to:
💗 Make a donation towards the almost-free music I've released that you can stream online (reciprociTree!)
✨ Help me fund everything else that comes with releasing music – creating beautiful physical copies of the album – CDs & Vinyl, promotion (lets get the message out far and wide!), publicity, paying musicians, visual content and developing a live show! There are SO many additional costs that often go unnoticed by listeners. I want to bring this album to as many people as possible, and that means investing in content, promotional photography, graphic design, merchandise, PR and marketing efforts, print and digital ads, touring expenses, and so much more. (Oh my god are you still reading?! I LOVE YOU!) The reality is that these expenses add up, and I need your support to deliver this nature-infused project to the world.

P.S. For the last ten years I've worked in environmental activism, focused on plastic pollution, in fact the organisation I founded, City to Sea, started with a music video ... which I crowdfunded on this platform in 2014! I'm also an author of three books and a professional speaker. Having spent the last decade focused on 'saving the planet', my year under the oak showed me that it's time for me to serve in a different way, through song, co-creating with nature to help more of us remember our interconnectedness with life and each other. So that's why I'm crowdfunding here again, 11 years later! x
