Aim
We’re fundraising to support the 2025 Ulverston Lantern Festival.
Every year thousands turn-out to watch as a parade of community-made paper and wicker lanterns form a spectacular river of light through Ulverston, Cumbria.
The event has been going for over 40 years now and is a highlight of our Festival Town’s busy events calendar.
It’s run entirely by volunteers and paid for with sales of lantern kits and your brilliant donations.
With your help this year’s event will take place on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 20 📆
THE 2025 LANTERN FESTIVAL THEME IS...
*drum roll* *fanfares* ...MUSIC!
A light symphony of musical notes and instruments
A Pop Parade of musical icons & things from songs
Maybe some band names brought to lantern life from Fleet Foxes to LED Zepplins...
...all ready to trip the Light Fantastic
Lantern kits (£6) are on sale in August across the town at Appleseeds, The Book Shack (Indoor Market), The Coronation Hall, The Cumbria Way Gift Shop and Croftlands Launderette.
Or make your lantern at our community workshops at The Coronation Hall the week before:
Saturday 13th Sept, 2-6pm
Sunday 14th Sept, 2-6pm
Mon to Fri 15-19th Sept, 5.30 - 8.30pm.
