Ultraleap supports the Light Year Foundation in breaking down the barriers to disabled children accessing STEM
Ultraleap is taking part in Race to Space, a sponsored challenge for Lightyear Foundation to cover 62 miles (the distance from Earth to the start of outer space). Lightyear has match funding in place for this, meaning donations are being DOUBLED* so your support can have a stellar impact!
To play our part, Ultraleap will be gathering colleagues, friends, family, and partners for a 10-mile walk around the beautiful city of Bristol.
Lightyear Foundation helps disabled children to access STEM through ‘sensory science’ creative workshops, engaging virtual labs, highlighting disabled scientist role models, and workplace inspiration trips. They work with a wide range of disabled children to help them reach their full potential, filling a gap in service delivery and education that is offered by no other organisation.
Ultraleap has been supporting the Lightyear Foundation throughout 2022 as we strongly believe these children can contribute a lot to the tech industry.
Our walk will help raise money for Lightyear to recruit, train and support new STEM Leads to deliver programmes, set up new classes, launch workshops in new locations, and up-skill many others in inclusive practice.
As the campaign is being run on crowdfunder, you’ll find amazing rewards for anyone donating - choose from free science magazine subscriptions, signed copies of children's STEM books, a behind-the-scenes tour of the Natural History Museum and more!
We hope you can join us for a great day and a great cause!
