We need your power to finish this inspiring documentary about underdogs Ultimate Thunder, a punk-rock band like no other. JOIN US! 🤘🎥🔥
Raw, loud and full of heart, Ultimate Thunder are a rock band like no other.
Six members. Five with learning disabilities, Down syndrome or autism. Together, they’ve built something raw, loud, and unstoppable — and now their story is being captured in a groundbreaking documentary.

Independent filmmaker Ben G. Brown has spent over three years following their journey, as an unfunded passion project, with over 100 hours of footage filmed by him and the band themselves. Now, we need your help to finish the film and share it with the world.
The film challenges stereotypes about disability and neurodiversity by celebrating individuality, creativity, and community. It’s not about labels. It’s about musicians chasing their dream — and refusing to be silenced.
This is a film about the power of music to break barriers, bring people together, and give voice to those too often left unheard.
We need your generosity and support to finish this amazing story and get it in front audiences.

Ultimate Thunder’s wild, improvisational gigs have already earned them critical praise, with The Guardian and The Big Issue calling them “the most punk rock band in Britain.”
But their path hasn’t been easy. The documentary follows three turbulent years as the band:
• Records their first albums.
• Prepares for a major festival after years of small intimate gigs.
• Battles health crises, lost voices, members leaving and even a band break-up when funding is cut.

Through it all, fans and the wider rock community rally to keep them alive — leading to game-changing moments like:
• Playing Kendal Calling and other festivals.
• Supporting Yard Act to 6,000 fans at Leeds Millennium Square.
• A nerve-wracking live spot on BBC Breakfast.
This is a universal story of underdogs defying the odds, told with humour, grit, and heart.

Director Ben G. Brown became an “honorary band member” while filming, using a raw, observational style that mirrors the band’s DIY punk ethos. With footage shot by both him and the band, this is not a story told about them — it’s a story told with them.

After three years of unfunded work and passion, we’ve reached the final — and most crucial — stage: post-production.
We’re hoping to raise £20,000 to contribute towards the final steps in finishing the film, helping to cover:
